20 Weeks

Wednesday was a good day. I got a free blender, three boxes of Special K on sale (YES!!!), and we found out that this little baby is.....

Another BOY!!!

I'm not gonna lie though, I was kinda hoping for a girl. But for some reason (probably just because we already have two), I thought it was a boy and it turns out I was right! Even though we were expecting a boy, I'm still feeling a little intimidated at the thought of our home being overrun by little boys! Yikes! We are very excited though. I love being the mom of two crazy boys already, and thankful that I get to do it again :-) What an exciting, fun and chaotic few years we have ahead of us!

Besides finding out that it's a boy, the doctor also told us that everything looks great, the baby is healthy and growing right on track. He is measuring in at exactly 20 weeks and was moving around a lot during the ultrasound. We actually didn't get any good pictures because he of his position and all the wiggling around.

I am still feeling great, no complaints here! I expect the last couple months to be a little hard, mainly because my last trimester will take place in the extreme heat/humidity that I have previously expressed my hatred for each and every summer, but until then I am hopeful that this will continue to be a super easy pregnancy. I've gained 12 pounds so far and I started feeling the little guy moving about three weeks ago. I forgot how fun/weird that feeling is!

Jackson and Cullen seem excited to have another brother joining them soon too. Although, Cullen's initial reaction when he heard it was a boy was to frown and protest "But I wanted a baby sister!" He got over his disappointment quickly though, with the help of an ice cream sundae from McDonald's, and has been excitedly telling people that he's going to have a baby brother ever since. Jack likes to come up and snuggle against my belly, rub it, kiss it, etc. He says he loves the baby and can't wait to hold him. I am so excited to see them as big brothers!

Alright, now I'm off to enjoy a bowl (or two... or three) of Special K.

Are you sure it's only mid-March?

Because it sure feels like summer! We've had nearly 2 weeks of beautiful, perfect, 80-degree, low-humidity weather. I'm LOVING it! We're wearing shorts and T-shirts, leaving our windows open, and going on lots of walks. The boys have been out front playing with the neighbor kids nearly every night. This is what summer should feel like! There have been a few days of rain thrown in just to remind us that it is only March still but overall, we've had perfect spring weather. We're enjoying it while we can - and hoping and praying that this isn't the onset of a record-breaking summer!

Here are a couple pictures for those of you in Washington (who just got fresh snowfall last weekend?!?!) to drool over. It's not often I get to brag that our weather here is better, so please bear with me :-)

We've had yet another very busy week. On Tuesday, our group of pre-school families took the kids to the zoo for the day. We had an awesome time and Jack and Cullen got to see tons of animals and run around for hours with their friends. A pretty perfect day for a 3-year-old boy if you ask me!

And now we have another busy weekend coming up. I have big plans to hit up the spring consignment sales, and I'm selling at one for the first time too! I'm hoping to sell enough stuff to pay for a new single stroller in the summer, wish me luck!

Fire Station Field Trip

For preschool on Tuesday we took all the kids to a fire station for a tour. Jack and Cullen thoroughly enjoyed themselves! They got to climb in the fire trucks and ambulances, see where the firefighters eat and sleep, talk to a firefighter, try on the helmets, and even see the firefighters responding to a call.

Afterwards, we went to a park for some fire safety drills and a picnic lunch. Here are the kids doing a "smoke crawl race." It was a gorgeous day and we stayed at the park for a long time, spring is coming early this year!

Baby Bump

Last weekend I asked Brandon if he'd take a picture of my baby bump for me. Apparently he thought I'd asked for a panoramic photo of the fence in our backyard instead...

I cropped the heck out of one of the photos and came up with this:
Yesterday I took it upon myself and took a few obligatory "bathroom-baby-bump-pictures."

There it is, 16 1/2 weeks pregnant! The baby is about the size of an orange and weighs about 4 ounces. I scheduled our big ultrasound for March 28th. When I told Brandon about the ultrasound he said "I still can't believe we're having another baby!" I feel the same way, I forget I'm pregnant most of the time and it's strange to think that by the end of this month, I'll be halfway done!

I'm glad it's going by so quickly though- we'll be meeting this little baby before we know it!
