Last Week

We haven't been doing much lately, just mainly hanging around the house. It's been raining for over a week now so we haven't been able to go on as many walks lately. But we've made up for it by going to the mall and walking :-)

Last Monday, my friend Jessica came over with little Silas. It was the boys' first playdate since they first met a few weeks ago. We've had to keep them apart because Jack and Cullen were sick for a few weeks after Silas was born. I guess there wasn't actually much 'playing' going on since Silas is only 4 weeks old... but they enjoyed a meal together and Jessica and I enjoyed catching up. I didn't think to snap any pictures until after they were gone though, next time I will be sure to.

On Thursday, my friend Jackie came over. She met the boys when they were only a couple of weeks old but hasn't seen them since. Jackie was the very first person in the world to know I was pregnant (besides me of course). She was there when I returned completely freaked out after having taken the pregnancy test in the public restrooms at the train station (Gross, gross I know but once I suspected, I just had to know asap!). I walked back into the office pale as a sheet, she asked me what was wrong, I said "Nothing" and out of nowhere she goes "You're pregnant, aren't you?" Then Jackie paced the Senate halls with me, told me to calm down, gave me a big hug and bought me some frozen yogurt. After that, I did feel better and then excitement began to replace that feeling in the pit of my stomach that's similar to what I feel when I'm on a rollercoaster. Jackie couldn't believe how much the boys had grown since she last saw them (when they were around 5.5 pounds). It was fun to see her again and she even brought me some Mother's Day flowers!
On Saturday, Brandon and I went on an afternoon date. Some friends of ours offered to babysit the boys so we took them up on it. Brandon took me to Georgetown where we walked around a bit and had an early dinner. I had the most delicious Pomegranate Margarita! Mmmm! Then we went home and watched Changeling (which was good but much scarier and sadder than I had anticipated) and some recent Office episodes (to get the Changeling images out of my head before bed).

Here are some other pictures from the week:

He fell asleep like this on his own, I swear. I was sitting next to him using the laptop and I kept pulling him back but every time I did he'd scoot up a few inches until his head was hanging off. He must have liked it, I guess?

Jack posing

This is what inevitably happens whenever they try to sit up. Doesn't look very comfortable, but as long as he can suck on his fingers, he's happy.
