East Coast newscasters are SO weird! I've thought this for a few years now because they are usually over-the-top dramatic and use strange inflections and waaayyy too long dramatic pauses when they're talking. I usually just roll my eyes, but today was just too much!
We had a Severe Storm/Tornado warning this afternoon ,which really isn't uncommon, we probably have these at least once a week during the summer. And so, the weather guy warns about the strong winds which could maybe, potentially blow over a mobile home if it hit it just right. And then he says (no lie), "So if you live in a mobile home it's best to leave your home and go seek shelter as low to the ground as possible." Where does he suggest? Oh, just a ditch on the side of the road. Not. Even. Joking. A ditch.
At first, I thought I was the crazy one and that I must have heard him wrong. But no, he repeated it again about 10 minutes later, also suggesting the crawl space underneath the mobile home (umm, like where the rats are?). For real? That's the best place he can think of to hide from a not-so-severe storm? What planet are these people from?
