Jackson and Cullen flat out refused to take naps today. Well, really it was just Cullen so Jack would sleep for 20 minutes or so before Cullen's crying woke him up and then he wouldn't go back to sleep either.
They also refuse to eat most foods lately. Unless of course it's Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches or Goldfish crackers. Then they eat as if I haven't fed them in weeks. Otherwise, though, they dump all their food on the floor for Mommy to clean up.
They have been soooo fussy today that we had to go on two walks - besides a nap, that's by far the best way to get them to calm down.
And they've been shrieking at the top of their lungs for the past 3 hours over every single little thing. (Probably because they're overtired after refusing to nap).
..... So I put them to bed an hour early and turned off the baby monitor.
Does that make me a bad Mom? Probably. But it's the first quiet moments I've gotten all day. I feel soooo much better now!

nope!!!! an angry, exhausted, irritable mama is much worse than giving your child the sleep they need!!! =)
i am always so bummed when a child gets to the "no more naps" phase!!! Auston has held out the longest at 1 1/2...I am loving it!!! (Our others REFUSED to take naps!)

You are definitely not a bad mom! I've done that before with Harper, when she went through that "I learned how to stand in my crib and I'm going to yell at you until you come in here and sit me back down" phase when I knew she could sit herself back down. Yeah, there may have been a night or two in there where the baby monitor didn't get turned on (or up very high). Mama needs her sleep! I hope you have a restful and sleep filled night!
Girl, that is definitely normal. Colby does the same thing. I turn off the baby monitor every night whether or not he falls asleep right away. Once I put him down for bed, unless he is sick, I do not go back in there!! :)
