Elevator Woes

We've been walking to the car a lot lately and it's going pretty well. It's a lot less work than using the stroller, but it takes about 3 times as long. I usually give myself 15 extra minutes to get from our front door to the point where we're actually driving out of the lot. Otherwise I'd be late everywhere I go. Who am I kidding, I usually am late everywhere but I'd be embarrassingly late if I didn't account for these extra 15 minutes.

The boys just like to dawdle along, stop and touch all the bushes and flowers, and stare at cars or other people in the parking lot. And getting both of them into the elevator at the same time by myself is pretty much impossible. It must be funny to watch though! They usually take off in opposite directions while waiting for the elevator to come so I have to chase them down and try to coax them into the elevator once it arrives while holding the door open. This can go on for up to 2 minutes. But sometimes they don't come at all, so I have to go get them and of course the elevator doors close and then we have to wait for the next one. Then we repeat the process all over again.

You know that saying, "like herding cats." I truly understand what it means now.

And once we're in the elevator, they stand on their tip-toes trying to push all the buttons. I'd like to know who decided it was a good idea to put the Alarm button on the very bottom?? Obviously not a parent.
