Big Day Tomorrow

Brandon's taking the bar exam! It almost feels like our entire lives for the past 3 years have been building up to this moment. That may be exaggerating... but only slightly. Here's how you can be praying for us:

He's prepared himself so well, studying non-stop for the past 8 weeks, and he's a smart guy to begin with, but please still pray that he passes! It's a big, big test. 8 hours a day, for 2 days. I don't know how he's done it. I could not study for a test that big. I just don't think I'd have enough determination or focus.

Also, I know the chances are slim to none, but please pray that I don't go into labor a few weeks early while he's taking the exam on Tuesday or Wednesday. Last week, we agreed that if I do, I just wouldn't tell him. I'd just let him focus on taking the test, and then call him at 5 pm on Wednesday and tell him not to bother going home but just come to the hospital instead.

There are no make-ups for the bar exam so if he misses it, he can't take it again until February and then we'd have to go through this all over again. So, in the unlikely event that this baby decides to come early, I'll be going it alone. And I really, really, really don't want to. So I'm going to be taking it really easy the next couple days and praying that this baby doesn't decide to arrive early for some reason.

And finally, please pray that we'd put our trust in God and not in Brandon, or him passing the bar exam, or any future job opportunity, etc. He won't find out the results for 3 months, so pray that we'd not be anxious about the future, that we'd be content in our waiting, and that we'd trust that God is still good and faithful, whether Brandon passes or not.

J and I came across this verse the other day and thought it related really well to the grad projects we've worked so hard on, and it's become a prayer:

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! Ps 90

Praying you don't go into labor early. We have the greatest confidence that Brandon will do great on the bar exam. Love to all of you

We have been praying for weeks and our prayers will be continuous over the next 2 days. "Do not fear, for I am with you... Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (Is. 41:10) Three years of hard work culminates in complete trust in the sovereignty of our God. He is good and He will supply your every need (Phil. 4:19)
