Last weekend, we somewhat spontaneously decided to take a mini-vacation to the beach to celebrate Brandon finishing the bar exam and before our next little boy arrives in a few weeks. And we had the BEST time!
We went to Virginia Beach which is about 4 hours away, a perfect little roadtrip. Brandon and I had gone there last year by ourselves and thought it would be fun to bring the boys back with us. It was our first family vacation that was really a vacation. All four of us, no stressful 12-hour flight across the country, no agenda- just relaxing and having fun together. Brandon and I kept asking each other why we hadn't done this before. Oh right, because there was never time... haha. Now that he's done with school, we may have to make up for lost time though.
My boys all watching Finding Nemo at the hotel together. It's Jack and Cullen's new favorite movie and they were so excited to watch it with their Daddy!
Does it get any better than playing baseball on the beach with your Dad? Nope.

Both the boys were surprisingly brave about facing the ocean. Neither exactly loved it at first, but by the second day they were both happy to go in with Brandon or I. Cullen even started walking in up to his waist all by himself.
Playing in the sand kept them occupied for hours. This made it a surprisingly restful vacation for their parents.

This picture pretty much sums up our trip. Jack and Cullen loved the beach!
All that playing in the sun resulted in them passing out for nearly the entire drive home.

J and I are planning our first *real* vacation (honeymoon?) for October.... Like staying hotels... not tents or couches. And no family. I've never been so excited.
